Office
Program Director – Ms.Fernanda Vargas
Hello, my name is Fernanda Vargas, and I am the Program Director at Kinderwood. I began my journey with Kinderwood in October 2021 as a toddler teacher and have had the privilege of growing within the organization into my current leadership role. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and positive environment where children, families, and staff feel valued, and supported. My birthday is in February. I’m bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish fluently, and I also have knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL). One of the most rewarding parts of my work is building meaningful relationships with our families and creating fun, long-lasting memories that children will cherish for years to come.
Office Manager- Ms.Christine Calon
My name is Ms. Christine and I have dedicated my career to working with children. I began my journey at Kinderwood working with the two-year old program, and eventually moved up to room 5. With dedication and hard work now I currently serve as the office manager. As a mother of three, I have always found great joy and happiness and working with children. I am passionate about the work we do and truly value the opportunity to contribute to this field.
Ms Rocio – Infant Teacher
Hi, my name is Rocio. I have been working for Kinderwood since December 2017. I have worked with infants up to school age since I was in high school at the age of 17. I love all ages however I discovered that I love infants the best! I like to take care for all my kiddos at the schools I have worked at like they are my own. They give me so much love and happiness that I always give the same back. I have two daughters that I love with all my heart and enjoy spending everyday with. I thank you for letting me be a part of your child’s life and yours also.
Pre-K Teacher- Ms. Rachelle Mosco
Hello! My name is Rachelle, and I have been working at Kinderwood for the past three years. I believe children learn best when they are having fun, getting a little messy, and exploring the world around them through hands-on experiences. I truly enjoy working with children and have a passion for teaching. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is watching them learn, grow, and build confidence each day. The love, excitement, and joy they share make every day in the classroom special. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and making lasting memories together.
Ms. Valerie – Pre-K Teacher
My name is Valerie, and I am the teacher for the 3-year olds. They are my favorite age. This is when they are the most inquisitive and eager to learn and experience new things. I have been working with children forever! I have been working at Kinderwood since April 2002. I can speak two languages, English and Portuguese. Working with children has been my most rewarding profession. I am a movie Junkie!! I love to go out with my friends to eat and shop! I went to Santa Clara High. After graduation, I went to Beauty School. I was a beautician for over 5 years. I even tried being a janitor for a brief period until I found my calling in working with small children. I then attended De Anza College, where I obtained ECE training.
Pre-K Teacher – Ms. Mercedez Buchholz
My name is Mercedez, and I am excited to introduce myself. I am a young person who enjoys trying new things and participating in fun activities. I love spending time with others, learning, and making the most of every opportunity.
My birthday is in September, which is always an exciting time of year for me. One of the things that is most important to me is creating a positive and welcoming environment for everyone. I strongly believe that school should be a safe place where every student feels respected, supported, and encouraged to learn and grow. I look forward to getting to know everyone and making great memories together.

Pre-K Teacher- Ms. Yessenia Torres
Hello! I’m Ms Yessenia. I’ve been working at kinderwood for a year now. I currently work in room 3 with very curious, outgoing 2 year olds. I enjoy creating a fun and safe environment for the children in my class. Building strong relationships with the children and their families is one of my favorite parts of my job.
